| Kelly Factory Racing All one has to do is show up at a local bicycle race on any given Sunday to realize just how much raw talent is out there. We @ Kelly salute the many devoted and talented riders that show up at these weekend events all through the year-- year after year. While there is so much great talent out there it's an exceptional two that found their way onto the Kelly Factory Team -- Dorothy Wong & Stella Carey. Thanks to the fine folks at Michelin, True Temper, PowerBar, Paul Components & Bell Helmets who help make our race program a success. Whithout you we wouldn't be where we are.

| So Cal Cyclocross Cup Race #10 – 12/5/04 - State Championships, ADT/Home Depot Center
Cyclocross returned to the classic Cal State Dominguez Hills race course after a long hiatus and the building of the new ADT/Home Depot Center which now houses the Home Depot Soccer Stadium and the ADT Event Center – home to a brand new, world class indoor track cycling venue. Along with it came what is becoming a trend in sunny Southern California… cold, wet weather conditions. The State Championship CX course wound its way around the ADT Center where world-class track cyclists were practicing inside for an international event the following weekend. And despite the construction, the once opening fields with classic hill run ups in the dirt and grass somehow managed to resurface with a flair of its own. So Cal Racers braved the cold, rainy and muddy conditions to take titles in Junior, Senior and Masters categories. The race format different than the previous weeks, grouped categories together in three waves. Masters and Women, Juniors, then Senior Men which combined A/B/C category racers. This made the Senior Men’s field the highlight on the 1.2 mile course, with racers everywhere! Race results can be found on: www.cyclingnews.com . So Cal Cyclocross Cup Series standings and race calendar are at: www.socalcycling.com. Three more weeks of So Cal Cyclocross Cup racing! Over 100 competitors from across So Cal made the trek to Verdugo Park and were treated to not only to a classic course, but also to free breakfast courtesy of Egg Beaters and Detroit Coffee! A record number of C men lined the course with TTCX Sponsor, Lee Bird (PAA/Merrill Lynch) taking the victory in his first cross race! Ryan Morgan of the Amgen Junior Squad continues to lead the series with his 4th victory of the season. In the Killer B’s… the battle for first continues as Paul Welsh of Celo Pacific chases down Jason Vorell (Encore Credit) who now only leads by 6 points. Emilio Cervantes (Raleigh) on the prowl in the 35+ race overcame series leader Chris Gallup (Celo Pacific) on the last lap for the win. So Cal CX Cup Race #8 - 11/21/04 - Urban CX Final - Palos Verdes, CA Race 8 of the So Cal CX Cup this past Sunday was also the series final for the Urban CX Series. Almost 100 racers again were treated to So Cal sunshine, though quite cold for us as a "freak" storm hit and dumped snow in our nearby mountains and high deserts. Morning temperatures dipped under 50 degrees and the overnight rain cleared the skies leaving almost endless views of the Pacific Ocean from the race course. The fast paced course was set within a cross country running path... first through some loose mulch with a hairpin turn, then up a canyon doubletrack with some mild climbing, a bridge crossing, to a super fast downhill with a sweeping left turn leading to a triple barrier run up. After that, a quick downhill, another hairpin turn then back through the Start/Finish. The battle in the 45+/50+ event continued... with Charles Morris (Celo Pacific) chipping away at Jonathan Livesay's lead with another commanding victory. Both the B and C men are neck and neck with the top 3 in each category trading leads in the series. Sheila Moon, So Cal Cross Sponsor and official beanie designer made her appearance in the A Women's race taking 4 th . In the A men's race, Mark Noble, his son, Chance and Perry Paolini.. the "Amgen train", with a quick start, broke away from the entire field on the first lap. Chance took his first victory in the Men's A's, while also representing the Amgen Junior squad... look out for Chance! Race 7 marks the half-way point of the So Cal CX Cup and took place this past Sunday at Campus Pointe Industrial Park in Goleta. Everyone was treated to an exceptionally beautiful and warm day which again brought a record numbers of racers, almost doubling from last year. It was also a special day as So Cal CX Sponsor, Chris Kelly and family came to experience So Cal CX first hand. If that’s not enough, making her first appearance in cyclocross racing was National Champion Pro MTBer, Tara Llanes (Giant). Just putting the last of her components on the night before, Tara took it to the So Cal CX scene in the women’s race, closely contesting Dorothy and finishing 2nd on the day. More to come from Ms. Llanes for sure! In the men’s A race, So Cal stud, Brent Prenzlow (Celo Pacific/Salsa) paid a visit to his roots as he’s been tearing it up at the national races for most of the season. Brent finished 1st, while Leo Sandoval (Bicycle John’s/Salsa) who broke away from the group, only to be matched by Brent, took 2nd . Local hero and pro/elite road racer, Ryan Yee (Bicycles of Ojai) finished 3rd. Celo Pacific dominated the top 5 with Jeff Herring and John Behrens finishing 4th and 5th respectively.
